Musitrend Turntable Review

Due to the revival of record players and listening to vinyl records there are more and more companies breaking into the market of record players with their own products. Musitrend is one of them. It doesn’t have a long history like e.g. Audio Technica or Crosley Radio but it doesn’t mean that we should write them down without trying their products.

The Company

As it is a relatively new company, you won’t find much information about them online. Heck the main reason why we have decided to buy their low-end turntable and test it from every possible aspect. This way we can give you our genuine opinion about it.

They have 3 different models for sale right now, out of which we have tested the most successful one, which also happens to be the cheapest of their range.

It costs under a hundred dollars and comes with lots of features. Honestly, it comes with so many features that before testing it, we were afraid of it trying to do too much without actually doing anything well. Read on and you will find out whether our presumption was right or not.

 The Features

  • Adjustable to play 33, 45 or 78 RPM records with Stereo Speaker System. Comes with 45RPM Adaptor
  • Direct USB/SD encoding for turntable, cassette,
  • Convert vinyl to MP3 format without a computer
  • Auxiliary Input to connect to Your iPhone, iPad, Android or any other smartphone or tablet. RCA line out with 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • Blue Back-lit LCD Display, AM/FM Stereo Receiver, Cassette Palyer, Dust Cover
  • What You Get: Musitrend 3 Speed Turntable, box package, manual in English and 12-month warranty.

All this for way under a hundred dollars. Looks impressive. However, these are just words until they are proved to work the way they are expected. Let’s continue.

The Look

We may not review this product without mentioning the look of it. It really brings back the 80’s feelings. Personally, I like it a lot. To me record players, vinyl records are just as much about nostalgia as they are about great, pure sound quality. So, as for the look, I am sold.

The Sound

Probably, when it comes to turntables and in general listening to music, sound quality is the top priority. We tested the sound of this turntable in many ways. We got to the following conclusion. The sound quality is overall good. When also taking into consideration the price of the product it is really good. You cannot find a lot of sub-100 dollars turntable with this good sound quality. When it comes to the loudness, we were a bit disappointed. We were expecting it to be loud enough to be enjoyable from any part of a normal sized room but we were proved wrong. This is not a room filling music source. You gotta keep that in mind when considering buying it.

We discovered after some research that many of the customers bought this turntable and not something else in this price category for its feature of converting vinyl to digital format (MP3). Given so, we had to test this specific feature in depth. Briefly, it works great. In a more detailed version: We have converted more than 10 vinyl records of different age (30 years old to brand new) and manufacturer. The output quality was great in all cases.

Recently, we have seen many new brands like Musitrend coming out with their own turntable. Not many of them made a product as good as Musitrend did though. If you are on a budget, looking for the “vinyl feeling” for less than a hundred dollars, you should consider the most popular player of the brand new Musitrend.
