TEAC is an electronics company based in Japan. It has a great history of over 60 years and has a very good reputation for its quality product. They offer some of the best turntables available on the market today. This is the review of their most popular one, the TN-300. As always, in this review we are going to cover the Pros, Cons and the most important features of this amazing device.

So, let’s see why you should consider buying this turntable over others if you’re looking for on for around 400 dollars.
The TN-300 is a belt-drive analog record player with a built-in MM Phono equalizer amplifier with USB output. As mentioned in the above “Technical details” part, it has a pretty good Audio-Technica cartridge (The AT95E cartridge to be more concrete). However, compared to other components, it could be better. A great feature is that it has USB output which makes it possible to transfer music from vinyls to your computer.
It is simply gorgeous to look at and feels very good to touch due to the quality materials (lots of aluminium). It is also very well put together meaning, once you buy the TN300 you can enjoy it for a very long time.
The TN-300 includes both phono and line outputs that allows you to play vinyl with or without a phono equalizer.
It is very easy to setup with the handbook coming in the package. Even if it is your first turntable ever, you should be able to listen to your first vinyl in a matter of a couple of minutes after unpacking the record player.
Fortunately, there isn’t much to talk about when it comes to the disadvantages of Teac’s turntables and the TN-300 is no exception. Some may think it is a bit pricey. Well, it is definitely not one of the cheap turntables but it’s worth every single penny.
A kind of weak part is the AT95E cartridge. We don’t say it is bad. It is actually one of the most popular ones. There is a good reason for that. It is affordable yet of good quality. The reason why we think it is the weak part of this device is that other parts are simply better. It can be easily solved by buying a better cartridge so this really shouldn’t be the reason why you don’t buy this turntable.
The TN-300 is a great quality product from TEAC built of really good materials to last for a long time. It has almost no cons which is very rare. We definitely recommend to consider it if you can spend around 400 dollars on a turntable. For this money you get a sound quality you don’t get from 99% of the turntables on the market.
Surely, there are even better devices but they usually cost much more that’s why the TN-300 is really good value for the money. There are some exceptions though. Probably, the biggest problem with the TN-300 is that you it has a very strong competition: Audio Technica AT-LP1240, Rega RP1 or the Project Debut Carbon. You really cannot go wrong with any of them. We would personally pick the AT-LP1240 if we were in your shoes as that it simply perfect. However, as already said, nothing is wrong with the TN300 so, if you prefer its style just go for it!
